  3.                      Another pirate-bashing demo!

  6.     First of all, I want you to upload this demo to every BBS you know
  7. of.   These ideas need to be spread around a lot more, and you're just
  8. the person to do it.  Include it in your user group disk catalog, copy
  9. it for friends as a kind of novelty!
  10.  
  11.     You're probably wondering just what this is.  Well, this is just a
  12. little  demo  for  anti-piracy.   But what makes it unique is the fact
  13. that  it  was  taken  from pirate disk intros!  That's right, this was
  14. programmed  by  a  scum  software pirate.  I ripped a bunch of 'em and
  15. changed  their scrolling text messages to say what I want them to say.
  16. I  thought it would be fun to hack some pirate wares, ruin their image
  17. a little.  But I intend to ruin a their image a LOT.
  18.     I'm  not  going  to lecture you on the stupidity of piracy, or how
  19. brainless  software crackers are...that's all in the demo.  Here are a
  20. couple of things to remember:

  22. 1.  The screen itself hasn't changed, only the scrolling text.  So you
  23. will  see  options that you may select, which will either boot you out
  24. to the desktop or make you reset your computer.  If you don't know how
  25. to get out, just start pressing keys (usually the numbers or the space
  26. bar)  and you'll be out.  The reason for this is that it tries to load
  27. files  that  aren't  there.  To save hassle, just do a warm boot after
  28. viewing the demo if you want.

  30. 2.  The  messages  may vary from demo to demo, but the general idea is
  31. the same:  software crackers are scum.  _I_ am not scum because I hack
  32. files made by people who hack commercial software.  Read the messages,
  33. I  made  them humorous but insulting to pirates--you won't enjoy it as
  34. much unless you read the entire message of each demo.

  36.     Let's  start  a  trend  of  hacker-bashing.  These people ruin the
  37. software  industry  with their childish, idiotic tinkering and have no
  38. right to get away with as much as they do.  We talk and talk about how
  39. to  get  rid of them, but we rarely talk ABOUT them.  Let's ruin their
  40. egos,  which  are  inflated beyond belief!  Ruin their image, which is
  41. pathetic to begin with.
  42.     Enough  preaching,  let's get on with the thing!  Remember, if you
  43. truly   love   your  computer,  you'll  bash  a  pirate  today!   (And
  44. tomorrow...)
